Of ear infection and some fungi attack
I noticed blood on Princess’ right ear Sunday night. I refused to panic because I knew I wouldn’t be able to control it if I start panicking. I decided to just wait until the following day instead of going to the 24-hour vet clinic that charges double.
Come Monday, I brought her to Animal House in SM Bicutan. The vet checked her ears and, well, she had bacterial infection brought about, perhaps, by water trapped inside the ear during bath.
The blood was maybe caused by her scratching and constant shaking of the head.
Kuya Rene, the resident groomer in AH SMB, was so kind to pause what he’s doing (he’s grooming another shih-tzu) to accommodate Princess and clean her ears and clip her nails.
Well, now, Princess has topical and oral meds for her ears, and a new set of soap and shampoo for another fungal infection on her right elbow. All that for two months, but I think I’ll continue with the soap and shampoo tandem even after her elbow heals. That is, if she doesn’t get itchy, which I don’t think so because they are antifungal.
